Hello to everybody who is regularly following the BSM French blog! What's new? Well, Year 2 have been amazing Mr Weir with their tremendous interview techniques, interviewing each other while wearing monster masks and blowing his socks off with their incredible command of French. Star performers worth mentioning, although you were all stars, were Saif in 2L who really took off last week along with his partner Adam. Beth, Ana, Rachel and Carmen were asking and answering questions with great accents and Chizu hadled two monsters (Nathan and Kabir!)in one go! Can't wait to have you in KS2 for double the amount of French next year, Year 2!

In Year Three and Four we have just learned the prepositions (words which describe the position of something) SUR and DANS, meaning on and in. We've been treated to some very creative sentence-making in lessons, where it seems that 'the table is on the computer' or even more strangely, the CD is in the CD or the chair is in the bag! How is this possible, you ask? Come to Year 3 and 4 French lessons and find out!

Year 5 Set 3 wowed Miss Haynes with their confidence in talking about their holidays - where they would go, their opinions about those places and what they would get up to. They even recorded their conversations and gave themselves instant feedback when they listened to themselves on the recordings straight away. Fantastic performances from everyone in that group, and great self-correction techniques in particular from Josh Buffey and Will Robertson.

Welcome to four more followers - Salsha, Dark Wolf (aka Khalesh!) Kelsey and Blackberry 10 (not sure who you are!). Thank you also to those parents who came to the first Family Learning Afternoon with their children yesterday, and to those who were there today for the session about Year 5 and 6.

Years 5 and 6 learned some more vocabulary this week related to activities you might do on holiday.

The phrases you need for these pictures are...

faire du sport
faire les maneges
faire du bateau
faire du ski
faire du velo
nager
voir mes grandparents

Can you match up the right ones?

Thank you to those of you who have read the French blog and especially those who posted a comment and became followers: Najah, Gautam, Sarah, Rhiannon Rania and Tessa!

This week in class Years Three and Four are learning the French alphabet and singing my silly alphabet song! If you want to sing it to the dog/cat/hamster/baby brother or just to the mirror, here is the phonetic French alphabet (that means how you say each letter). See if you can do the hand actions at the same time!

Year Five and Six continue to work on expressing their opinion about holidays. You can practise this by going around saying (about anything you like!)
'J'adore ca, j'aime ca, je n'aime pas ca and je deteste ca. I haven't yet discovered how to put in accents in this blog, so if you find out, please tell me!
